Developing New Materials For Energy Transduction

Extending Einstein's spooky action for use in quantum networks

An international team, including researchers from Swinburne University of Technology, has demonstrated that the 1935 Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen (EPR) quantum mechanics paradox may be extended to more than two optical systems, paving the way for exploration of larger quantum networks.  "The strength of the entanglement created in our network allows us to confirm rigorously – without using any additional assumptions that would create scientific loopholes – the genuine tripartite entanglement of three of the optical fields. The experiment therefore provides an important step towards validation of mesoscopic quantum mechanics," Swinburne's Professor Margaret Reid said.
The EPR paradox pointed out that two well-separated systems can have a strange type of quantum connection, so that what happens in one system seems to immediately affect the other. This connection has recently been called 'EPR steering entanglement'. EPR steering is the nonlocality – what Albert Einstein called 'spooky actions at a distance' – associated with the EPR paradox and has traditionally been investigated between only two parties. An experiment performed by researchers from the Australian National University (ANU) and Tianjin University supports the predictions of theoretical work developed by researchers at Swinburne and Peking University.  Nassim Haramein has calculated a geometric solution for the gravitational field. In his latest paper "Quantum Gravity and the Holographic Mass" he describes gravity in a classical algebraic way by calculating the density of the space both within and on the outside of the event horizon of a proton.
The seemingly "empty" vacuum of space is actually a nearly infinitely dense super-fluid medium made of tiny tiny tiny little frothing bubbles of energy. Sometimes called the "quantum foam", each of these miniscule vibrations represents a spherical wave form, or quanta, that is the diameter of the smallest possible measurable distance, the Planck length. Haramein calls these tiny spherical information bits Planck spherical units or PSUs. The PSUs on the interior of the proton's event horizon pack together in a perfectly space-filling overlapping "3D" Flower of Life structure with each sphere's center being connected by a tetrahedral lattice geometry. The PSUs within the proton volume holographically project on the proton surface event horizon as "flat" equatorial circles in a "2D" flower of life tiling pattern.

The second equation shows the number of Planck spherical units contained within the proton, which is 10↑60. In the third equation, the external surface horizon is divided by the internal volume and then multiplied by the Planck mass to give the total value of the proton mass. With a simple classical geometric calculation, Haramein obtains the mass of the proton according to the standard model, as measured from the outside, in the laboratory: 10↑-24 gm.
Haramein then calculates the external Planck circles divided by the internal Planck spheres to obtain the gravitational mass of the proton, which equals 10↑14 which is the exact amount of mass needed for the proton to obey what is called the the Schwarzschild condition of a black hole. Protons are quantum scale black holes. Gravity is a ratio of volume to surface area.

Thus, each electron will only have angular momentum (l) values that are an integer times Planck's Constant divided by 2  (the number of radians in a circle; h/2  is often expressed as the "reduced Planck's Constant,"   -- a symbol used by Paul Dirac). The spectral lines of hydrogen result when an electron drops from one angular momentum state to a lower one and releases energy. The energy is then emitted as a photon, a quantum of electro-magnetic radiation, as explained by Albert Einstein in 1905 (the "photo-electric effect"), at a frequency and wavelength proportional to its energy, according to Planck's equation, E =  h = hc/ , where c is the velocity of light,   is the frequency (1/s, Hz),   is the wavelength (m), and c =  . Bohr's equation for hydrogen is as follows, where n and n' are integer values for the level that the electron is leaving (n) and the level to which the electron is falling (n').

The team of physicists at ANU and the University of Otago stored quantum information in atoms of the rare earth element europium embedded in a crystal.  After writing a quantum state onto the nuclear spin of the europium using laser light, the team subjected the crystal to a combination of a fixed and oscillating magnetic fields to preserve the fragile quantum information.    more

Unifying Mind and Matter: Doorways to a Larger Reality


As we begin to expand the unity of mind and matter, our comprehension of the prominence of the quantity C (LIGHT), as in E=MC2, will advance significantly.



Staying in touch within the boundaries of contemporary science we find frequency manipulation, levitation, are capacities which are accessible both physically and mentally. A wider scope of E=MC2 and the Radius of Curvature of all Natural Law (the quantity C) adds far more clarity to a larger reality beyond the ‘flat world’ standard physics model of today.

Abstract
Progress in theoretical physics during the past decade has led to a progressively more unified understanding of the laws of nature, culminating in the recent discovery of completely unified field theories. The parallel discovery of a unified field of consciousness raises fundamental questions concerning the relationship between the two.

Following a general introduction to unified quantum field theories, we consider the proposal due to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi that the unified field of modern theoretical physics and the field of "pure consciousness" are identical. We show that the proposed identity between consciousness and the unified field is consistent with all known physical principles, but requires an expanded physical framework for the understanding of consciousness. Such a framework may indeed be required to account for experimentally observed field effects of consciousness and phenomenological aspects of higher states of consciousness.

In 1901, Max Planck's Law of radiation states that the level of energy upon which any nuclear particle or atom exists at any given moment is directly proportionate to its frequency of oscillation, and that the energy level of any body of matter is, therefore, proportionate to the mean frequency of its particles. For at least two thousand years the metaphysician has stated that the level of energy, spirit, or potential upon which any particle, any body of matter, or any being exists, at any given moment, is directly proportionate to its rate of vibration.

The new device shows that it is possible to build a "non-resonant" levitation device -- one that does not require a fixed separation distance between the source and the reflector. This breakthrough may be an important step toward building larger devices that could be used to handle hazardous materials, chemically-sensitive materials like pharmaceuticals -- or to provide technology for a new generation of high-tech, gee-whiz children's toys.

Gee-whiz children's toys?  Is the article's comment a deliberate misleading “look yonder”?

The children’s tale of ‘chicken little’ comes to mind as the remarkable, far reaching potential of ‘levitation’, ‘field propulsion’ remains ignored.



 














How much longer can we afford to continue to ignore Field Propulsion – the natural and universal means of producing kinetic energy differentials, and to finally abandon the obsolete and inefficient concept of reaction propulsion?

According to Special Relativity's time dilation and length contraction, two observers with relative motion are condemned to eternal disagreement about times and lengths. Or are they?

They will disagree over the arbitrary times measured in seconds and lengths measured in metres or whatever units. They would also disagree over clock ticks, atomic vibrations and light wavelengths. But what if there were some absolute times and lengths, determined by the very nature of the universe? And what if these quantities could be measured in different frames of reference. Wouldn't the observers have to agree on those having the same value, if they agree on the same laws of physics?

Well, there is an abolute length and an absolute time. It's possible that we'll never be able to measure them, so any threat posed to relativity is distant and perhaps even hypothetical. It is interesting to see whether and how these quantities might be included in relativity.

The Planck length LP is defined by taking the constants of nature and combining them in such a way that their units combine to give a length. Planck's constant, h, has units of Joule seconds. (These days, physicists usually work with h/2π, and so shall we.) Cavendish's constant G (the constant of gravitation) has units of N.m2kg-2. And the speed of light c has units of m.s-1. The combination that works is:
LP = (hG/2πc3)1/2 .
The Planck length is 1.6 x 10-35 metres. (That's 0.000000000000000000000000000000000016 meters.) To give you an idea, let's compare it with the size of an atom, which is already about 100,000 times smaller than anything you can see with your unaided eye (an atom size is about 0.0000000001 meters). Suppose that you measured the diameter of an atom in Planck lengths, and that you counted off one Planck length per second. To measure the atomic diameter in Planck lengths would take you 10,000,000 times the current age of the universe. (After which time, for Joyce fans, the fires of hell may well have begun to begin to burn.)
Divide the minuscule Planck length by the speed of light (which is pretty big) and you get a really tiny unit of time, the Planck time, tP, which is:
tP = (hG/2πc5)1/2 .
The Planck time is 5.4 x 10-44 seconds. (I'm wearing out the zero key on this keyboard, so I shan't write it out in full but you get the idea: it's brief.)

There is also a Planck mass, which is (ch/2πG)1/2 = 22 μg. This doesn't sound very much, until you think of a fundamental particle with that mass. Or until you convert it into energy by multiplying by c2 to get 2.0 109 joules or 1.2 x 1028 eV. Yes, 2 billion joules all concentrated in one atomic particle.
Anyhow, the Planck length and time are very small, but they are results solely of the values that appear naturally in our physical laws. So according to the principle of Special Relativity, it seems that different observers should observe them to be the same. So what about time dilation and length contraction? If these lengths and times are observable as physical lengths and intervals in moving frames, it appears that we shall need to modify Special Relativity to include them. One theory that does so is called Doubly Special Relativity, suggested in 2002 by Giovanni Amelino-Camelia.
Before we get too excited, we should point out just how far beyond current experimental technology these effects are. Particle accelerators are described by the energies that they can produce, and the latest generation produces energies of TeV, or 1012 eV. The Planck energy is 1.2 x 1031 eV. We are short by a factor of 1019. Which is a good thing.

Further, it's not clear (to this author, at least) what it would mean to measure these lengths and times in or from different frames of reference. As we'll see below, on the Planck scale, time and space no longer have their ordinary, macroscopic meaning and so naïve applications of relativity are probably inappropriate.

Quantum mechanics, gravity and relativity
So, where do these quantities come from? The speed of light c is the natural unit that relates time and space. G is the constant of gravity, and h is the constant of quantum mechanics. So the Planck scale defines the meeting point of gravity, quantum mechanics, time and space. Currently, we don't know much about this interaction, because gravity is so feeble that its influence on things as small as quantum systems is small.

Special Relativity and quantum mechanics work very well together. Relativistic quantum electrodynamic is a spectacularly accurate theory. Richard Feynman once described how accurate it was by saying: if you asked me how far it was to the moon and I said "do you mean from my head or from my feet?" That accurate.

Quantum mechanics and gravity (whether Newton's theory of gravity or Einstein's theory of General Relativity) do not fit so neatly together. The problem can be put in several different ways, but I favour this one. From our discussion of virtual particles (Why there would be no chemistry without relativity), we saw that virtual particles could be larger (ie more massive) if their lifetime and range were smaller.

Now both Newton's and Einstein's gravity predict that enough mass in a small enough space can produce a black hole: a region with a gravitational field so strong that its escape velocity is c. When we put the two ideas together, we find that there is a scale small enough for virtual black holes to exist. This is the Planck scale. On this scale, all of the weird, singular behaviour associated with black holes asserts itself. Space and time as continuous entities cease to have meanings when discussing distances of 10-35 metres and times of 10-44 seconds. So relativity, a theory of space and time based on a continuum, must run into serious difficulties.

Which is perhaps not surprising: the Planck scale is a very, very long extrapolation from our current knowledge.

On this topic, we have so little direct knowledge that there are few hints to guide the development of theories, and even fewer constraints upon those theories. Consequently, there are several different families of theories that aim to produce a consistent theory of quantum gravity. Usually they include a larger number of spatial dimensions, not all of which are macroscopic*. At the moment, however interesting they be, these theories are speculative. Perhaps one of them will turn out to be a good, useful theory, and the others will fall. At the moment, we cannot put them to the test.
Today, we remember Democritus for speculating on the existence of atoms and Aristachos for proposing that the Earth went around the sun. The ancient Greek philosophers proposed so many ideas that it is perhaps not too surprising that some of them turned out to be consistent with facts discovered much later.
